I had previously been evaluated by several neurosurgeons who determined that I had no choice but to manage my pain with medication. However, after I visited Dr. Djavid, she administered weekly spinal decompression treatments which began to help reduce my herniated disc symptoms. She exhibited a warm, caring demeanor and reviewed my medical records and MRI studies in considerable detail.
She also began a course of therapy to "break up" the abnormal scar tissue by combining precisely directed tension with very specific movements. I was also given exercises to perform at home in addition to the actual treatment sessions. To my great surprise and relief, I experienced reduction of pain after the first treatment and by the 4th treatment, I was experiencing prolonged pain-free periods for the first time since 1999. Eventually, I was completely free of pain and the numbness and burning in my left fingers also resolved completely.
