New study showed kids who were consuming higher quantities of meat, fat and sugar had reduced microbial flora in their gut and thus were more likely to not only obesity and allergies but other inflammatory diseases.
Inflammatory conditions such as allergies, autoimmune disorders, and inflammatory bowel diseases are on a rise in western countries and more so in the United States. The gastrointestinal flora (good bacteria in your gut) plays an important role in balancing out your PH and your overall homeostasis.
It makes sense that Sugar, Dairy and Meat (more specifically red meat) would be linked to inflammatory conditions, because they are inflammatory products. In a state of pain and disease or when your body is in a crisis situation (health-wise) these products need to be avoided to allow the natural defense mechanism reduce the inflammation that exists in your body.
Omega3 Fish oil is a great way to reduce your inflammatory state. Keep in mind, there’s no alternative to fresh fruits and veggies.
Here is a very informative website on ingredients that are present in vaccines, and why you should really get to know them.
‘Center for Disease Control and Prevention suggests a one size fits all strategy when it comes to vaccinating infants, many doctors agree that unless there is a known risk involved, most of the vaccines are unnecessary. For instance currently, newborns receive Hepatitis B shots as soon as they’re born and before their discharge from the hospital. Hepatitis B is spread through sexual activity, infected needles, sharing razors or toothbrush, contact with an infected person.
Dr. Richard Frye, a neurologist and pediatrician at the Medical University of Texas disagrees and expresses concern about this CDC recommendation; “I’ve never understood why we give this at birth.” Many pediatricians believe that not all disease is created equal and each infant should only be vaccinated if at risk. “I don’t know any babies who have sex or share needles” Dr. Traver of Foster City said, unless the mother is infected this vaccine is not only useless, but harmful.’
Please educate yourself before you vaccinate your infants.
This article written by a SF chiropractor explains in details the difference between Nonsurgical spinal decompression and traction. Here in our office, we utilize both traction and spinal decompression. First it depends on what is causing your condition, in some cases, patients need both. In corrective care therapy, we use various types of traction to rehabilitate and rebuild the spine into its ideal place.
Spinal decompression on the other hand is used mostly for patients with chronic lower back pain where the nerves and or discs are involved, sciatica, disc herniation and a bulging disc. Most of our patients who are candidates for Spinal Decompression, they have been told they are a surgical candidate and are looking for an alternative way of reducing their pain and getting to the root cause of the problem. Most of these patients will never have to go through surgery!
To find out if you’re a candidate for spinal decompression, call us @ 949-387-1333 for a consultation.
To most people even the topic of this blog is absurd and un-familiar, but it is no surprise that the big Pharmaceutical companies spend 19 billion dollars each year on bribing, gifting and influencing physicians in promoting their medicine.
According to the ‘natural news‘ “The majority of doctors say these gifts don’t influence their prescribing behavior, just like the majority of consumers claim television advertising has no influence on their grocery purchases, either. Studies prove otherwise. Studies prove that drug company gifts to doctors are, indeed, not only effective, but quite a bargain for the drug companies.”
Pharmaceutical companies seem to have no interest in patient care or healing processes of diseases. They are a big business that mostly revolve around making more money. There is no question about drugs and various medication have been saving lives for years, but to bribe physicians into chosing a certain kind of medicine sure interferes with patient care.
What most people don’t realize is that almost always there are alternatives to taking drugs. One should always look into the root cause of the problem, and not just symptom relief. You could be suffering from a headache, because you are dehydrated or because you have tension in the occipital region of your neck; Excedrin will only mask your headache, it will not hydrate you or release muscular tension in your cervico-cranial region.
Chiropractic care is not only a preventative treatment but it can also determine the root cause of a symptom and correct the condition.
New study that just came out TODAY! The study evaluates the relationship between lack of motion in a child’s neck and chronic tension headaches in healthy children. We see and help many patients with headaches, it is always amusing to me that no physician has looked into the cervical (neck) spine of headache patients to find the root cause of the problem. Medication is not the way to go unless all other options have been exhausted specially in children.
This study shows that majority of the children who have been suffering from chronic tension headaches have reduced range of motion in their cervical (neck) spine and lack of motion in those segments causes taut and tender muscles in the area that can then lead to tension headaches. This research study supports the fact that the cervical spine should be the explored in children with headaches as the root cause of the problem.
Chiropractors help patients whether a child or an adult in determining if the root cause of a tension headache is in the spine; if that is the case, a chiropractor can help! Be sure the chiropractor you chose to go to is experienced and specializes in seeing children. Chiropractic care can also help strengthen the immune system and help the body function better.
We’re not surprised, nor are our patients that Chiropractic Care would rank # 1 in treating neck and back pain. It is also important to know just how chiropractic care can help your overall health and vitality.
The truth is most women today are not familiar with the birth process and there’s a fear that may go along with not knowing/understanding the birth process. I just read a study on maternal stress during pregnancy and how it can effect the neurology and brain development of a child. During pregnancy a woman’s blood pressure, her uterine size as well as baby’s heart tones are measured and monitored. I believe that her supportive network and psychology is just as important and lack of them can be detrimental to the child’s health. Maternal stress and lack of support and education during pregnancy has also been linked to the size of the baby.
Dr. Pampa Sarkar who is the lead author and researcher of this study explains the negative effects of stress/cortisol on the baby: “We are all a product of our developmental history. One of the times when we are most susceptible to the influences of our surrounding environment is when we are developing as a fetus in our mother’s womb. Our research shows that the fetus is exposed to cortisol in the maternal blood” He goes on to explain that this correlation became stronger with increasing gestational age.
Overdoses of legal drugs (mostly sedative, tranquilizers, and opoids) in the United States led to 65 percent more hospitalizations over the past seven years. These hospitalizations counted for poisoning and over dose. The percent increase for hospitalizations due to illegal drugs also increased by 33 percent. Here is the original article.
Most people take medication (over the counter or prescription) to avoid aches and pains. Keep in mind that taking drugs will only mask your pain temporarily, you still need to address the root of the problem. For example if you’re suffering from headaches, the cause can be a variety of things: diet, lack of exercise, tension in your neck, stress, dehydration, environmental toxins, etc. Taking a pain killer will not remove the root of the problem. Not to mention the dangerous side effects on your liver as well as your overall health.
Here an article with the same title that was published originally in Washington Examiner. Gardasil is a vaccine owned by Merck targeting the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) that can cause cervical cancer. This vaccine was approved by the FDA in 2006.
As of January, 2010, this vaccine has been linked to 49 ‘unexplained deaths’. These deaths were following a Gardasil injections and were reported to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control). Yet no recall for Gardasil which is now a requirement for 6th grade girls in DC, MD,VA and many other states.
Educate before you vaccinate.
A few days ago an article came out on Science News about the direct relationship between patients who have short leg and their likelihood of developing Osteoarthritis in the hip and knee. This study shows that early preventative strategies may be possible. “Most pediatricians adopt a ‘wait and see’ attitude for children with limb misalignment when they’re growing” says Dr. Cooke. “If we can spot factors creating changes in alignment early in bone development, theoretically we could stop or slow down the progression of osteoarthritis.” At a recent seminar I attended last month, a study was presented on leg lenth inequalities that discussed early correction is more beneficial than ‘wait and see’ protocol.
Leg Lenfth Inequalities are not easy to detect, only an expert eye or x-rays can determine the exact measurements of the inequality. A small leg length differential can be corrected with a shoe insert, while a bigger one can be corrected with surgery. This condition most often gets ignored unless you or your children are being seen by an expert chiropractic physician. Here in my Newport Beach practice, I often see adults with Osteoporosis who have significant Osteoarthritis. As an older adult a heel lift can help prevent the Osteoarthritis from getting worse or help with symptoms, but it is always better to get your spine checked and correct the leg length in younger kids to prevent arthritis to begin with.
William F Harvey from Boston University, currently at Tufts Medical Center, was the lead author on the paper, which was recently published in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine. Queen’s University was the only Canadian university involved in this international study.
