This article written by a SF chiropractor explains in details the difference between Nonsurgical spinal decompression and traction. Here in our office, we utilize both traction and spinal decompression. First it depends on what is causing your condition, in some cases, patients need both. In corrective care therapy, we use various types of traction to rehabilitate and rebuild the spine into its ideal place.
Spinal decompression on the other hand is used mostly for patients with chronic lower back pain where the nerves and or discs are involved, sciatica, disc herniation and a bulging disc. Most of our patients who are candidates for Spinal Decompression, they have been told they are a surgical candidate and are looking for an alternative way of reducing their pain and getting to the root cause of the problem. Most of these patients will never have to go through surgery!
To find out if you’re a candidate for spinal decompression, call us @ 949-387-1333 for a consultation.
Here is an article on WebMD about specific Chiropractic care and how it helps patients with high blood pressure.
New study that just came out TODAY! The study evaluates the relationship between lack of motion in a child’s neck and chronic tension headaches in healthy children. We see and help many patients with headaches, it is always amusing to me that no physician has looked into the cervical (neck) spine of headache patients to find the root cause of the problem. Medication is not the way to go unless all other options have been exhausted specially in children.
This study shows that majority of the children who have been suffering from chronic tension headaches have reduced range of motion in their cervical (neck) spine and lack of motion in those segments causes taut and tender muscles in the area that can then lead to tension headaches. This research study supports the fact that the cervical spine should be the explored in children with headaches as the root cause of the problem.
Chiropractors help patients whether a child or an adult in determining if the root cause of a tension headache is in the spine; if that is the case, a chiropractor can help! Be sure the chiropractor you chose to go to is experienced and specializes in seeing children. Chiropractic care can also help strengthen the immune system and help the body function better.
We’re not surprised, nor are our patients that Chiropractic Care would rank # 1 in treating neck and back pain. It is also important to know just how chiropractic care can help your overall health and vitality.
Overdoses of legal drugs (mostly sedative, tranquilizers, and opoids) in the United States led to 65 percent more hospitalizations over the past seven years. These hospitalizations counted for poisoning and over dose. The percent increase for hospitalizations due to illegal drugs also increased by 33 percent. Here is the original article.
Most people take medication (over the counter or prescription) to avoid aches and pains. Keep in mind that taking drugs will only mask your pain temporarily, you still need to address the root of the problem. For example if you’re suffering from headaches, the cause can be a variety of things: diet, lack of exercise, tension in your neck, stress, dehydration, environmental toxins, etc. Taking a pain killer will not remove the root of the problem. Not to mention the dangerous side effects on your liver as well as your overall health.
Here an article with the same title that was published originally in Washington Examiner. Gardasil is a vaccine owned by Merck targeting the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) that can cause cervical cancer. This vaccine was approved by the FDA in 2006.
As of January, 2010, this vaccine has been linked to 49 ‘unexplained deaths’. These deaths were following a Gardasil injections and were reported to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control). Yet no recall for Gardasil which is now a requirement for 6th grade girls in DC, MD,VA and many other states.
Educate before you vaccinate.
Normal Cervical Spine (neck)
Your neck is not only directly attached to your brain (which controls everything) but also holds very important nerves within the spine in that region. These nerves directly communicate with extremely important areas in your brain. A normal Cervical spine (neck) has a 45 degree curve in it, and the nerves sitting inside of the spinal column are relaxed and can freely communicate with the metabolism center, sleep center, and immune system in your brain. Sometimes because of stressed in our lives; physical stress, chemical stress, or emotional stress, the spine kinks out of place. This kinks breaks the flow of nervous system and can cause poor posture, headaches, neck pain, weak immune system, sleeping problems, migraines, and much more. Make sure to get your neck checked, not only if you have neck pain, but also to make sure your nerves are not being pinched or stretched in that area. A good chiropractor would do a full orthopedic and neurological exam, a set of x-rays and a treatment plan that rehabilitates your spine back to a normal curvature. Remember posture is a window to your health! What is your posture like?
Your posture is the window to your health. Have you ever seen a hunched back person with horrible posture who is extremely healthy? Your posture is a presentation of weaknesses or strength in your spine as well as in your nervous system (because your nervous system sits inside of your spine). If you have kinks and weaknesses in your posture that means your organs are not getting enough energy and are on their way to being diseased. Get your posture corrected today! Your health is the most important asset you have and your posture determines how healthy you are.
“We serve 1.5 million meals a week in to 4 million people and we’re making every best effort to generate a change in behavior, to create an awareness in consumers about making healthy choices.” by the chief executive of McDonald’s New Zealand, Mark Hawthorne.
Three of McDonald’s meals (the Fillet-O-Fish, with 18g of fat and 380 calories; Chicken McNuggets, with 29g of fat and 485 calories; and Sweet Chilli Seared Chicken Wrap, with 18.8g of fat and 404 calories) have all been approved to be put on the Weight Wacther’s list. As part of the deal, McDonald’s will use the Weight Watchers logo on its menu boards and Weight Watchers will promote McDonald’s food to dieters. This deal starts in New Zealand and Australia and the U.S. is on the list of this money making idea.
Let’s think about this, 10 pieces of Chicken McNuggets with almost 500 calories is almost a third of the number of calories an average female should consume in one day (an average woman who is not on a diet).
Let’s be real. This marketing strategy is genius but NOT healthy! I do believe that we do make our own decisions and should be responsible for making healthy choice. Everyone should educate themselves before making those decisions! Pass on and share every piece of information you find to your family and friends so that they can make healthy choices. I’ve said it before, there’s no substitute for real fruits and vegetables. Replace those high calorie unhealthy foods for yummy and fresh fruits and veggies and experience weight loss and true vitality.
Try Chiropractic Care for your hyperactive kids, don’t give them medication! Here is why.
