That was the topic of an article that caught my eye this morning, followed by the fact that children who take ADD/ADHD medication have significantly higher blood pressure.
This article is based on research that has compared kids with ADHD who take prescription medication for their condition and those who avoid the drugs all together. It claims that the children taking medication were doing poorly in school by 10 times than the kids who have ADHD and were not taking medication. This study also indicated that at age 14 the medication group had higher blood pressure and an increased risk for heart attacks, stroke as well as depression. Is it worth it?
